Riddler costume, contruction

This Riddler costume ate my life for pretty much all of September. It was so involved, in fact, that I was only able to do one round of design drills and nary an Amazonia garment was draped before the Expo weekend. In spite of the underestimation of time that it would take to make it, I had a blast. Passion for Fashion

It’s hard to grasp that only a week ago I was in the midst of the Passion for Fashion challenge. To say that last weekend was stressful would be an understatement. But it was also an insane, wonderful, gut-wrenching and edifying experience. I met some lovely people and was definitely pushed beyond what I expected from myself in the time that was provided. I will try my best to communicate what life felt like for those two days. Continue reading

Then I did some sewing

I feel like I’ve done more drawing than sewing in the past few weeks. Fortunately, I’ve had a commission or two come my way to break it up. Plus I finished one of my personal sewing projects. Nothing like adding to your closet! Continue reading

I’m gonna do a cosplay, you guys!

I must be bonkers. I found out that the American Sewing Expo is holding a juried cosplay competition this year. This is the first year they’re incorporating cosplay into the Expo, which has got me geeked. No pun intended. The competition is being held the day after the Passion for Fashion runway show. That’s why I must be crazy.  Continue reading

Passion for Fashion submission

With most everything underway or done, what’s left in the last week of June, you ask? Only draping, patterning and making a submission for the ‘Passion for Fashion’ sewing competition, that needs to be postmarked July 1. No time like last minute. Continue reading

Ocupado

This has been a very long, very hectic month. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to have been so occupied. But by the time the dust had settled, a whole month had gone by. And the blog lay, once again, abandoned. Oi. Not to worry though! I have a month’s worth of projects to post about, and they’re all going to publish over the coarse of this week. (Lucky you.) Let’s get started, shall we? Continue reading

Procrastinate much?

Oh. My. Gosh. You guys, totally unacceptable. April 23rd was the last post?! Ridiculous. I feel especially bad because during this gap a few people started following this blog. Ugh. Fail me. So let’s get this rolling again. Continue reading

Hard to keep up

Oh my gosh, you guys! I  have dropped the ball. So I finished the military shirt over the weekend. Why no post until now? Everything went into super go mode by the end of last week. The deadline for the Party Like a Rock Star competition is looming, and with Easter my timetable was getting crunched. Continue reading

Project: military shirt

Hello again everyone! Changing topics from sewing and projects for a minute … anyone else feeling the effects of the duel eclipses? If you haven’t heard April 15th marks the first of two eclipses to happen within two weeks. The next, which will be a solar eclipse, is on April 30th. Even if you don’t buy into astrology and New Age stuff, you can’t deny that the gravitational changes are going to have an interesting effect. Continue reading

Cardigan, Finished!

Day 2 is going to see this cardigan finished. And to help me do that, I’ve got some nifty wireless headphones!

I need to listen to something when I work or time seems to stretch forever and I have a heard time keeping pace. Just for fun, I’m going to add whatever album, podcast or playlist I was listening to for each project. Continue reading
