Riddler costume, contruction

This Riddler costume ate my life for pretty much all of September. It was so involved, in fact, that I was only able to do one round of design drills and nary an Amazonia garment was draped before the Expo weekend. In spite of the underestimation of time that it would take to make it, I had a blast. Passion for Fashion

It’s hard to grasp that only a week ago I was in the midst of the Passion for Fashion challenge. To say that last weekend was stressful would be an understatement. But it was also an insane, wonderful, gut-wrenching and edifying experience. I met some lovely people and was definitely pushed beyond what I expected from myself in the time that was provided. I will try my best to communicate what life felt like for those two days. Continue reading

Then I did some sewing

I feel like I’ve done more drawing than sewing in the past few weeks. Fortunately, I’ve had a commission or two come my way to break it up. Plus I finished one of my personal sewing projects. Nothing like adding to your closet! Continue reading

Catching up to do

Hey all! So after a mild bought of depression, I’m back! Nothing super serious, but with all my submissions turned in and all of my deadlines completed, I was in a bit of a slump. There is always something to work on – but what should I work on? And without a clear goal in sight, what’s the point? Continue reading

Passion for Fashion submission

With most everything underway or done, what’s left in the last week of June, you ask? Only draping, patterning and making a submission for the ‘Passion for Fashion’ sewing competition, that needs to be postmarked July 1. No time like last minute. Continue reading

Ding! Pattern’s done!

This past week and weekend was spent finishing the endeavors began in the last entry. I’d finished the basic bodice and skirt slopers for me, and was still working on the beginnings of my fiance‘s sloper. We’re on a bit of a time crunch since his gallery opening is June 20. This is obviously plenty of time to start and finish a shirt – so why the crunch? Continue reading

Bar Show Pt1: Ice dyeing

Another bloody hiatus. Admittedly, being this busy is a good problem to have, but I still feel awful going this long between posts. I’ve made it through the two major deadlines for this month, so hopefully I can get back into the groove of 2 – 3 posts a week.

So what has happened in the last week that’s kept me from my blog? Well, the voting has begun for the ‘Party Like a Rock Star’ finals. Continue reading
